Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the PersonFinder API ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PersonFinder is an API that finds publicly available contact information — emails, phone numbers, and social profile links — using public data providers, web search, and AI-powered selection. The Service aggregates publicly accessible data from sources including GitHub public profiles, personal websites, and search engines.
We do not access private data, breach authentication systems, or use any method that circumvents access controls. All data returned by the API is publicly available on the internet.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the Service for:
- Recruitment and talent sourcing
- Sales and business development outreach
- Market research and analysis
- Identity verification and due diligence
You may NOT use the Service for:
- Stalking, harassment, or intimidation
- Mass unsolicited spam (email, SMS, or calls)
- Identity theft or fraud
- Doxxing or publishing someone's private information
- Any activity prohibited by the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India), GDPR, CCPA, or applicable law in your jurisdiction
4. Data Accuracy
The Service aggregates publicly available data. We do not guarantee that any specific email, phone number, or social link is current, accurate, or belongs to the intended person. You are responsible for verifying results before acting on them.
5. API Keys and Security
You are responsible for keeping your API key secure. Do not share it, commit it to version control, or expose it in client-side code. You are liable for all usage of your key until you report it compromised.
We may automatically suspend or ban keys that show patterns of abuse, excessive rate violations, or suspicious activity. We may also restrict access by IP address.
6. Billing and Credits
The Service operates on a credit-based system. Credits are deducted per API call based on the data returned. Monthly plan credits do not roll over. Top-up credits roll over for one year from purchase.
All payments are processed by Razorpay. Refunds are governed by Razorpay's refund policy and applicable law. No refunds are issued for credits already used.
7. Rate Limits and Fair Use
Each plan has a rate limit (requests per minute). Exceeding the rate limit returns a 429 error. Repeated violations trigger automatic account suspension.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, including but not limited to: automated bulk queries designed to exhaust credits, sharing keys across multiple organizations, or attempting to reverse-engineer the data pipeline.
8. Privacy
Our data collection and usage practices are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described there.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your API key is revoked and no further requests are processed.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users.
